Experts recommend at least six to eight hours of sound sleep every single day, and if you are not getting enough sleep, it’s time to think of some lifestyle changes. Here are some quick ways to sleep regularly and on time.
Focus on food habits
Following the food triangle all through the day is quite a good habit to keep. Instead on piling on calories, keep your food light for the evening and dinner. Also, if you are too addicted to caffeine and alcohol, it is likely that sleep problems may be persistent. Smokers, especially women, should consider quitting at the earliest.
Avoid the distractions
Whether it’s the sound of the passing vehicles, a loved but stubborn pet on the bed or even your partner on the laptop, you have to keep the distractions away. Avoid focusing on gadgets and unwanted things before bed time, and if needed, consider listening to light music.
Decide on regular sleeping times
Irregular sleeping times or sleeping at different times on different days is the prime reason behind sleep disorders. Think of making a diary to note the sleeping times as this will help in starting the habit of going to bed on the same time every day. Nap times in the day are also considered to be good, especially when you are unable to get full seven hours of sleep each day.
Finally, make your room worthy enough to induce sleep. This includes making a cozy bed, turning off unwanted sources of noise and using a good comforter.
